Local Nacogdoches photographer, Greg Patterson and portrait studio, G Patterson Photographic Studio & Gallery were awarded 1st Place in the Bert Rees Christmas Lights contest in the category “Reason for the Season.”

What a privilege to be awarded first place in the “Reason for the Season” category of the Nacogdoches Bert Rees Christmas light competition.

When our children were younger, we would always make it a point to visit the Rees house to view the wonderful light display this time of year. I think Cindy and I enjoyed it just as much or even more than the kids. This year, we wanted to pass along some of that Christmas joy and decided to decorate a little bit differently than in the past.

Although Cindy and our daughter Jessica created the nativity set last year, it was and will always be the focus which was displayed in the front lawn of G Patterson Studio. The flag poles transformed into Christmas trees with alternating white and colored lights. The porch was wrapped with garland filled with white lights. It all came together just in time for the downtown Christmas Lights parade held usually the first week in December.

This is the time of year we also spend with or thinking of family.

Year’s go by rather quickly and its amazing to see how my family has changed from young kids running around to grown adults on the verge of starting their own family. It puts a smile on my face, all the memories of this time of year. I hope it does the same for you.

And Merry Christmas Nacogdoches! We really do appreciate you for your continued support of our studio.

Greg & Cindy Patterson
