So, What Have We Lost?
Written by Cindy Patterson on August 28th, 2014While perusing new book titles on Amazon I saw one that caught my attention. What could a book titled “The End of Absence” be about? I wondered. The first thing I thought of was that the opposite of absent is present, right? So, was this another self-improvement book about how to stay present? I didn’t need [click title to read more ;)]
I’ve got three great daughters, but only one Golden Child
Written by Daryl Sparks on August 18th, 2014I am, in all reality, the luckiest father on the planet. I have three beautiful, healthy, caring daughters. Each day I come home from work, they struggle with each other as they race to the door to give me the “first hug.” I’m blessed, no doubt. But having a wife and three daughters at home [click title to read more ;)]
School Picture Day Not your Grandmother's school pictures
Written by Cindy Patterson on August 15th, 2014Traditionally, school pictures were synonymous for “the worst picture I ever took…ever!” I don’t know if we cringed more at the creepy guy in the leisure suit behind the camera or when we received our school pictures a few weeks later. But, times have changed and so has picture day. So said a recent high school [click title to read more ;)]
This pic says it all! Children photos can be WACKY but they're SO WORTH IT!
Written by Daryl Sparks on August 11th, 2014We had the great pleasure of seeing these two beautiful children come to the studio last week. Big Sister was very patient and perfectly well behaved. Little Brother, on the other hand, had something else in mind. Don’t get me wrong… He wasn’t misbehaved at all. He just was NOT interested in having photos taken. [click title to read more ;)]
To Photoshop or Not to Photoshop?
Written by Cindy Patterson on August 8th, 2014That is not really the question. In today’s society, we all do a little tweaking with our pictures. With the ability to change and enhance at our fingertips, it’s hard not to. We’ve been engineered to like beauty; our eyes are drawn to it. Companies plan their ad campaigns based on it. Beautiful ads sell! [click title to read more ;)]
How will you tell your love story?
Written by Daryl Sparks on August 4th, 2014Summertime is wedding season! We’ve had so many walk-ins and phone calls from brides and mother’s of the bride during the past few months, it seems like everyone is in love and getting married. There are love stories to unfold… and then be told… and retold. The photographer’s story is not so much a love [click title to read more ;)]
Change and Hard Work
Written by Greg Patterson on July 25th, 2014Daniel, Class of 2010 I was remembering and maybe reminiscing a bit to when a photograph was a product of the darkroom. Going into a completely dark room and prying open a canister of film with a bottle opener to then attempt rolling the five foot long roll of film onto a processing reel. Processing [click title to read more ;)]
A Good Day What I'd like to say to the seniors…if they were listening
Written by Cindy Patterson on July 23rd, 2014It’s that time of year that we begin seeing high school seniors for their yearbook pictures. For Nacogdoches, it’s the velvet drape for girls and for boys, a tuxedo shirt and jacket. For some of them it’s the first time they’ve had professional pictures taken. For all of them, their senior year marks the end [click title to read more ;)]
Is it Christmas, Already? How quickly time flies
Written by Daryl Sparks on July 21st, 2014Before you start decking the halls and hanging ice sickle lights, no it’s not already Christmas… but it sure feels that way. Time has a way of zipping past us. Back in October of 2013, my family first started planning our Disney World trip to be taken eight months later in June of 2014. Last [click title to read more ;)]
